Abolhassan Davoudi reveals ‘Millipede’ pre-production challenge to ifilm

The director of Iran’s bestselling film of all times has revealed the most important challenge he faced while ‘Millipede’ was at its pre-production stage.

In an interview with ifilm Abolhassan Davoudi, the director of Iran’s bestselling film of all times, has revealed the most important challenge he faced while ‘Millipede’ was at its pre-production stage.

According to the director’s remarks, speaking in front of ifilm camera, the issue of atmosphere was one of the most challenging parts that he faced before the shooting stage for the flick kicks off.

Since the movie’s time setting is in 80s (Based on Persian calendar) it was very difficult for him to find a location that contains the geographic characteristics of those days because the urban geography had undergone rapid and serious changes in the passing of time. It was the reason that recreation of the atmosphere of that period of time was very difficult and challenging.

According to Mr. Davoudi, doing a project like this was so difficult because he did not want to make a historic movie in which location problem could easily be solved through making a decor. The movie wanted to take place in an urban area belonging to a few years ago.

“Reza, a criminal, finds out that a rich female doctor at war veteran hospital vows to marry a veteran,” a brief synopsis of the flick reads.

Actors such as Mehran Ahmadi, Sepand Amir-Soleymani, Reza Attaran, Sara Bahrami, Mohammad-Javad Ezzati, Shohreh Lorestani and Omid Rouhani, among many other famous names, are on the cast list.
